Fire Unit Family

Post by lax91 » Oct 27th, '17, 00:41

Anyway to break down the fire unit family so that squad, rescue and hazmat are not all under SPE. It could be like how ATF, FBI etc are separate. Not sure if possible on the programming end but would also be nice if the EMS Copter and the Police Copter became separate from ground EMS and Patrol, I think these changes will make it easier for dispatching large scale incidents and could open the possibility of missions that require a copter such as vehicle pursuit.

thanks

Squad and Rescue could come under Rescue family with prefix REC
Hazmat should come in its own with HAZ

That would help manage them for calls in stead of having to hunt through specials

Well I suggest they each are its own family rescue (RES) Squad (SQD) Hazmat (Haz) it will be consistent with how police have all the separate familys for K9, ATF, FBI etc.

Rescues/Special Hazards, HazMat, decon units and squads are all considered to be “speciality” vehicles in the fire service.

Some departments won’t purchase squads and will just have a Rescue/special hazards to perform specialty rescue situations, or they’ll purchase a Squad but have it function as a Engine and stock it with vehicle extrication equipment or other equipment that may be on a heavy rescue
