Tankers and Ladders

Post by Cintrak48 » Sep 26th, '17, 07:15

I don't know how common they are, but around me they use ladders and tankers as engines. Maybe something that could possibly be implimented?

They call them Pumper Tankers or Pumper Engines. I've heard them called both

We call them pumper tankers and the trucks that have water on them are referred to as quints.

May I suggest that one of the ladders be changed to a quint aka a ladder that also carries a small amount of water that could be used to cover both the ladder and engine just like squad covers squad and engine. With that though I would keep the tiller as just a ladder unit as most often the ladders with the larger sticks often dont carry a water supply and need to be feed by an engine.

I’d also add in versatility for ladders, on mvas a ladder could be used along with an engine instead of needing 2 engines

I agree with the above about trucks vs. multiple pumpers. In our fire department trucks carry special equipment that pumpers don't have (i.e. HURST/jaws of life, thermal imaging camera, gas meters, etc.)
